Bude is a special place in Cornwall and is the most northerly town easily reached by Bude Taxis. It has been a popular holiday destination since Victorian times; it is a lot easier to reach now, especially in Bude Taxis. In the 19th century is was notorious for wreckers who plundered ship wrecks off the coast – over 80 vessels in the fifty years up to 1874.

The Bude Taxis area is where coast meets countryside. It offers every sort of holiday experience from a short weekend break to a challenging activity holiday. There are excellent opportunities for cycling, walking, bird watching, golf and perhaps most famously – surfing. Why not arrange a tour of the area by Bude Taxis; a touring rate is available from many Bude Taxis you just have to ask.

The area has some of the best surfing beaches in the UK and boasts the first ever life saving club. The main beaches/places for surfing are: Widemouth Bay and Crackington Haven, readily reached in one of the local Bude Taxis

There is a seawater swimming pool on Summerleaze Beach that can offer safe swimming as the sea in this area is notorious for its Atlantic rollers. Bude also has its own indoor pool at the leisure centre. The town has a number of sporting and entertainment venues and it makes sense to use Bude Taxis; then you can really enjoy your evening.

Bude Taxis area has its own castle – a castellated mansion that overlooks Summerleaze Beach. It was built in Bude by Sir Goldsworthy Gurney in 1830. He was famous for being the first man to make a lengthy journey in a mechanical vehicle. He drove a steam carriage from London to Bath; nowhere near as warm and comfortable as the modern Bude Taxis. The building now houses the local council and is used for events, concerts and fetes throughout the year.

The scenery around Bude is unrivalled – the coastal vista are stunning. It is a paradise for ‘twitchers’ as there is plenty of interesting bird life. The cliff are also a favourite for rock climbers and the walks are definitely not for the faint hearted. It pays to use Bude Taxis to have a good look around the area.

Getting to Bude is along what is known as the Atlantic Highway (A39 to you and me). It links Bude with Newquay and is an alternative route into Cornwall from North Devon well known to the local Bude Taxis.
